This is the 10 days in Morocco itinerary from Fes. On this 10 days/ 9 nights grand tour you will be able to visit so many interesting places. Then go to the Todra Gorges, and Dades Gorges and the famous Kasbah of Ait Benhaddou. Cross the High Atlas mountains and Tizi-N-Tichka pass. Marrakech and Essaouira Sightseeing. Also, visit Casablanca the largest city and Rabat the capital city of Morocco. The other destinations include Meknes one of the imperial cities, the Roman ruins of Volubilis and the blue city of Chefchaouen. In the last instance, the tour concludes in Tangier.
Here is the 10 days in Morocco itinerary that begins with a pick from the Airport or your hotel in Fes. Then on the next day we spend the whole day touring around the Highlights of Fes with a local guide. It is one of the imperial cities and the spiritual heart of Morocco and a hub of Moroccan culture. And last but not the least the Quaraouin mosque and university the oldest university in the world. Then, we leave the Medina and go to the Jewish area called “the Mellah”. In the afternoon we go to an ancient fortress to have a view of the medina and the city of Fes from the top. Last but not the least, go back to your Riad.
For this day of our 10 Day Morocco Tour, we will have a warm breakfast and proceed to the south and our first stop is in Ifrane. The city has a reputation of being cold, snowy and possessing buildings that resemble the Swiss architecture – No wonder it is referred to as the Switzerland of Morocco. Then we proceed to cedars forest where the Barbary macaques are found. It is quite all right to give them food while walking in the forest. We then proceed to Midelt where we will have some free time for lunch. Then we leave for Merzouga through the Tizi-n-Tilghmt pass, and then the Ziz valley. There will be stoppages on the way to capture beautiful scenic views. We arrive at the Sahara desert of Merzouga in the afternoon. Then you switch to camels, and cross the sandy desert. You will make a stop on the top on the highest dune to have the sunset view. Last but not the least, you proceed to the desert camp. The camp is actually a mix between the nomadic tents, and the luxurious services of a hotel. Where you can listen to the Berber drum music, dance round the fire, with the night sky above and nothing but the stars. Dinner and overnight in the camp.
One has to wake up very early in the morning in order to witness the beauty of the new day especially the sunrise in the desert. Free time for breakfast. You return on the camels back to Merzouga where the driver is waiting for you. The day is devoted to exploring the area of Merzouga. This area has so many beautiful places to visit such as sand dunes, wild lake, mines, area with fossils, fabulous oases. These are the perfect places for many outdoor activities. First of all, we will be in Merzouga and then we will go off-road to visit an ancient eyeliner mine. Then we visit the nomads and we sit in their handmade woven tent. See how they live while taking a cup of the Berber tea. The next stop shall be at the Khamlia village where you will witness the Gnaoua music and dance. They are citizens of sub-Saharan countries such as Mali, Sudan and Niger. Spending the lunch break in a restaurant. Next we go for a walk in the palm trees grove. Next, a few kilometres away, there is the wild lake of Merzouga also known as the lake of flamingos. Meal and overnight at a hotel
After taking our breakfast we then move from the desert and head to Rissani town the former capital of Tafilalet. Rissani is still one of the largest trading centers in the area, having a large souk and being active on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays. After the tour in Rissani Souk, we proceed to Erfoud and we visit one of the workshops of the fossilized marble. We proceed to Touroug and Tinjdad palm groves and then proceed to Todra Gorges. The course of the Todra river has created a big canyon through the mountains, a high red cliff-sided canyon. These gorges are suitable for rock climbing sports. If you wish you may go to the gorges and admire the view of the landscape. Time to eat lunch in a restaurant, free time. We proceed to the Dades valley through Boumalne Dades. photo grams to take at the “monkey fingers” rock formation which is a common stop over. And on a spot on the top of the mountain that overlooks the valley of Dades. Last but not the least; dinner and overnight in a hotel
Soon after we have our breakfast, we travel to the Kalaa Magouna town to tour the Rose valley. The Rose Festival is an annual event that is held in May, where the locals sell their rose products; from perfumes to rose water, rose oil, and beauty products. We then move through the palm groves of Skoura. We then proceed to Ouarzazate a city referred to as the door of the desert. We will go to the studios in which well-known movies were filmed. We leave to go to the well-known Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou. A prehistoric village that has been defensively constructed and accredited by UNESCO as a world heritage site. Furthermore, the Kasbah has appeared in many movies including : Gladiator, Alexander, The Mummy and many other movies. And TV series such as game of thrones. It is for this reason that we progress to Marrakesh. Travelling through the Tizi-N-Tichka pass, and the High Atlas Mountains. Break will be served and photographs will be taken at certain relevant areas. Accommodation of one night at a Riad in Marrakech.
Today after taking the warm breakfast we will be going for touring the Marrakech city with the help of a local guide. It forms one of the four capital cities in Morocco, the others being Fes, Marrakesh, and Rabat. The visit includes : These are the Bahia Palace, Saadian Tombs, and the Ben Youssef Quranic mosque. And shopping for spices in the largest traditional souk in Morocco. Lunch break close to the Jemaa El-Fna square. In the second day, you go to the Koutoubia mosque which is the largest in Marrakech and the Majorelle garden. Last but not the least, proceed to your own place / hotel. It is advisable to walk around Jemaa El-Fna alone.
In the morning, after having breakfast, we drive westwards to the city of Essaouira. Along the way we will make some stops to visit the goats which climb the Argan trees and also for the different view points. We arrive at the coastal city of Essaouira also known as Mogador one of the great coastal cities in the kingdom of Morocco. It is well known for its seafood, beautiful beach and the sport of surfing. First, we are going to the fishing port, then the ancient ramparts with cannons and also we are going to visit old Medina. Last but not the least, transfer to the hotel. Overnight stay in Essaouira.
On the fourth day of the 10 days Morocco itinerary, the tours proceed to Casablanca for the day’s activities after taking breakfast. Moving from Essaouira we head for Casablanca city which is the economic capital of Morocco. Here we will visit Hassan II mosque the largest mosque in Morocco and also we will go for Casablanca cornish. Free time for lunch. Then proceed to Rabat, the capital city of Morocco. Overnight stay in Rabat
After the breakfast, we will be visiting Rabat which is one of the imperial cities of Morocco and at present it is the capital of the country. The country is situated in the north-western part of the African continent, specificly on the Atlantic coast of Morocco. You will visit the Highlights of the city including : Some of the typical examples are Hassan tower, Mausoleum of Mohammed V, Kasbah of Oudaya and so on. Free time for lunch. In the afternoon we move north passing through Ouazzane to get to the blue city of Chefchaouen in the Rif Mountains. It is well known for having buildings and alleyways painted in the color blue.
