In this 3 Days Fes to Marrakech tour through the desert, there are so many places that one can visit in such short time. It begins in Fes the ancient city. First of all, we will go to the Switzerland of Morocco which is Ifrane and the Cedars forest. Lunch in Midelt then drive through the constructed landscape following the Ziz river. Then we arrive to the Sahara desert of Merzouga. Where you can ride a camel, sleep in the desert camp in the middle of the desert. But we also will be able to see a beautiful sunset and sunrise over the Sahara Desert. Also, you will also be taken to Rissani traditional market and Erfoud known as the city of fossils. Then go to Todra gorges, Dades gorges and the kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou. Last but not the least, cross the High Atlas mountains and the Tizi-n-Tichka pass. The tour is concluded in Marrakech.
The 3-day desert tour to Marrakech starts with a pick up from the airport or your hotel in Fes and you will be taken through the following itinerary. We then proceed to the south towards Imouzzer to go to Ifrane where the temperature is low, it snows and has houses that resemble those in the alps – Not surprising it is known as the Switzerland of Morocco. The next place, which we visit is the Cedars Forest where Barbary Macaques live. You can feed them while roaming in the forest. Then, we proceed to Midelt for lunch. Then we proceed to the Sahara desert, passing through the Tizi-n-Tilghmt pass and along the Ziz river, and finally to the Sahara of Merzouga. where you get on the camels and cross the desert of sand. You will be allowed to have a view of the magical sun set while sitting on a high dune. Last but not least, we proceed to the desert camp where you will be entertained with the other Berber drums music and dancing around the camp fire, under the stars at night. Dinner and overnight at the said camp.
Get up early in the morning to watch the sun rise in the middle of the desert. Then free time for breakfast and then they return to Merzouga on camels and the driver will be waiting for them there. We depart the desert and go to Rissani town, which was once the capital of Tafilalet. Rissani is still one of the largest centres for trade in the area, this is evidenced by the large souk found in the town with business activities picking up on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays. We then head to Erfoud and then visit one of the workshops that deals in the selling of fossilized marble. We then proceed through the palm groves of Touroug and Tinjdad, and then to the Todra Gorges. With the passing of time, the Todra river has sculptured a beautiful gorge through the mountains – A high red-walled canyon. These gorges are best for rock climbers. It is allowed to walk around the gorges and enjoy the view of the beautiful nature. Lunch break and go to a restaurant with free time. We then go on to the Dades valley via the village of Boumalne Dades. Inevitable visits to the monkey fingers rock formation. And on a spot on top of a hill that commands a view of the Dades valley. Thus, dinner and overnight in a hotel.
After breakfast we move on to Kalaa Magouna and go to the Rose valley. A Rose Festival is conducted every year in the month of May where locals sell rose product ranging from perfume, rose water, oil and beauty products. We then go through the palm groves of Skoura on our way to the gite. We then proceed to Ouarzazate, a city refer to as the gate of the desert. We will go to the studios that filmed famous movies. The following day we proceed to the world renowned Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou. A prehistoric and ancient acropolis style village that has been protected and listed by UNESCO. Furthermore, the Kasbah has appeared in many movies including : Hollywood action packed movies like Gladiator, Alexander, The Mummy and many more. And TV shows such as Game of Thrones. We then move to the next stop, Marrakesh. Crossing the Tizi-N-Tichka pass and also the beautiful High Atlas Mountains. Breaks will be made to eat and have some funny and beautiful moments to take pictures. Thus, the last stop is Marrakesh, we take you to the airport, or to your hotel. End of the tour
