This 4 Days Fes to Marrakech Desert Tour takes you to many beautiful places in a span of 4 days only. The tour described here begins in Fes. First of all, we will go to Swiss of Morocco which called Ifrane and to the cedar forest. Then a stop in Midelt for lunch followed by a drive along the beautiful Ziz River. Having reached that point, we get to the Sahara desert of Merzouga. Came riding camels and sleep in the desert camp directly in the middle of the desert. One can also enjoy beautiful sun set and sun rise over the Sahara desert. 4×4 journey through the desert of Sahara. Thus, you will visit Rissani local market and Erfoud known for its fossils. Then move to the Todra gorges, Dades gorges, and the Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou. Last but not the least, cross the High Atlas mountains and the Tizi-n-Tichka pass. The tour is wrapping up in Marrackesh.

- Tour plan :

The 4 days Fes to Marrakech desert tour will begin with the pick up from the airport or your hotel in Fes at 8 in the morning. We continue driving south and on our way to Ifrane through Imouzzer, we are welcomed by snow and houses that resemble Switzerland –No wonder they call it Morocco’s Switzerland. Then we proceed to the cedar forest where the Barbary Macaques are found. You can give it to them while walking in the forest. Then we proceed to Midelt for lunch. Then we proceed to the Sahara desert passing through the Tizi-n-Tilghmt pass, and along the Ziz river and in the afternoon we get to the Sahara desert of Merzouga. where you use camels and cross desert where there is sand all over the place. You will get a chance to have a beautiful sunset while on top of a high dune. You will also proceed to the desert luxury camp where after enjoying a delicious meal, you will be entertained to Berber drums and dance round the camp fire at night with stars shining in the sky. Dinner and overnight at the camp.

Getting up early in the morning is a routine activity that one should not miss as he/she is able to witness the beautiful sunrise in the middle of the desert. Free time for breakfast. Then you go back on camels to Merzouga and the driver is waiting for you there. This day is to be spent for the exploration of the Merzouga region. There are so many great places to visit in the area including sand dunes, wild lake, mines, and fossil areas, and fabulous oases. It is very good for so many outdoor activities to be done there. First of all, our route begins in Merzouga, where we have our 4×4 vehicle to go to an ancient eyeliner mine. We then go to visit the nomads in their hand made woven tents that they live in. Find out how they live during the consumption of a Berber tea. The next stop will be at the Khamlia village where you will watch the Gnaoua music and dance show. Some of its people come from sub-Saharan countries such as Mali, Sudan, and Niger. Lunch time at the restaurant when one is not busy. Next, we go for a walk in the palm trees grove. Then after driving for a few kilometers you will come across the wild glaze of Merzouga or the lake of the flamingos. Lunch en-route and dinner and overnight at a hotel.

After breakfast we depart the desert to visit Rissani, considered as the former capital of Tafilalt region. Rissani is still one of the main trading center in the area with a large souk that is active on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays. We then proceed to Erfoud where we visit a workshop which deals with fossilized-marble. We then proceed through the villages of Touroug and Tinjdad palm groves and proceed to the Todra Gorge. Water flow of the Todra river has shaped one of the greatest canyons in the world on the rocks thus forming a high red cliff sided canyon. These gorges are an best place for climbing. You are allowed to walk around the gorges and enjoy the views of the surrounding place. Break time for lunch in a restaurant. We proceed to the Dades valley through Boumalne Dades then. Stops that cannot be missed include the monkey fingers rock formation. And on a spot atop a mountain overlooking the Dades valley. Last but not the least; dinner & overnight accommodation at a hotel

On the last day of your 4-day desert tour from Fes, we proceed to the last destination of our tour which is Kalaa Magouna and visit the Rose valley. A festival known as Rose Festival is celebrated in the month of May every year where the local vendors sell their rose based products such as fragrances, rose water, oil and beauty products. We then drive through the palm groves of Skoura. Further on we come to Ouarzazate, the town called the gate to the Sahara desert. We will go to the studios where popular movies have been filmed. We are going to see the most popular Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou. A fortified village which is listed as a world heritage site by UNESCO. Furthermore, the Kasbah has appeared in many movies including : Spectacle such as Gladiator, Alexander, The Mummy and so on. And TV series such as Game of thrones. Then we proceed to Marrakesh. To get to Marrakech, one has to pass through the Tizi-N-Tichka pass and the High Atlas Mountains which are quite stunning. Breaks will be made for lunch, and also for pictures to be taken at areas of interest. Last but not the least, we arrive Marrakesh, we will drop you at the airport or at your preferred place.
