Self-tourism, one week tour itinerary in Morocco, starting from Tangier. During our 7 days / 6 nights stay in Morocco, it will be like you’ve never seen Morocco before. Here you will find fantastic places to visit in Morocco. Tangier will be the starting point of the tour. Firstly, what you will do is visiting two places that are, Cape Spartel and Hercules cave. Then you are going to cross the Rif mountains, shopping in the blue city of Chefchaouen, and also visiting the Roman ruins of Volubilis. It also incorporates Fes and Meknes Sightseeing. Moreover, there is the beautiful Switzerland of Morocco namely Ifrane and The Cedars forest. There is camel riding through the desert and watching sunset and sunrise in the Merzouga area of the Sahara. Take a tour of Merzouga Sahara, take a walk through the Todra and Dades valleys. See the Kasbahs, and cross over the High Atlas and the Tizi-n-Tichka pass. Starting Tangier 7 days Morocco tour , First day of your 7 days tour. Our transfer services involve picking you from your acccomodation, airport, or the port in Tangier. Often referred to as “the bride of the north”. this is a city in northwest at the junction of the Mediterranean Sea and the Atlantic Ocean in Cape Spartel. Initially we will go for tour to the beautiful city and then move to the cave of Hercules & Caper Spartel. Free time for lunch. Then travel through the main city of Tetouan and then through the Rif Mountains before reaching the blue city, Chefchaouen. There are provisions to make some halts for the scenic beauty. Accommodations will be in a hotel in Chefchaouen for a night.

The visiting plan after the breakfast is to stroll around the picturesque alleys of spectacular blue city of Chefchaouen. Then we proceed for the Roman Empire ruins tour of Volubilis. It is well preserved, this site is one of the world heritages and is controlled by the UNESCO. It contains many stunning mosaics placed haphazardly all over the place and stunning ancient columns and doors. These followed by a half an hour drive 30 km to visit one of the imperial cities of Morocco Meknes, the Ismaili capital. Here it is necessary to visit Bab Al-Mansour, Sahrij Souani basin, the Royal stables, the granary and, finally, Moulay Ismail Mausoleum. We then proceed to Meknes and then later to Fes. Pick up is from your Riad/Hotel/Apartment in Fes after breakfast to start discovering Fes. It is among the four imperial cities, and in addition to being the religious and artists’ capital city of Morocco. It entails that we start the day by visiting the Royal Palace gate. Next is the well preserved medieval Medina listed as a World Heritage Site by the UNESCO. Blue gate or Bab Boujloud is one of the oldest gates leading to the old part of Fes el-Bali. You will enter the Medina with an agency-based local guide. Day 4 of the 7-day Sahara Morocco tour starts in the morning after breakfast extending southwards passing through Imouzzer. To go to Ifrane known as the city of snow, low temperature and the special architectural designed houses similar to those in the alpine region. So one can easily see why it is referred to as the Switzerland of Morocco. Then we proceed to go to cedars forest which is home to the Barbary macaque. You can freely feed them if you are wandering around the forest. Subsequently, we proceed with the Trip to Midelt with a free time for having our Lunch. We then ascend through the Tizi-n-Tilghmt pass and then move on to the Ziz valley which we will be stopping at various viewpoints at. In the afternoon we arrive to the exotic sahara desert of Merzouga. Where you exchange horses for camels and ride across the desert of sand, stop at a crest of a high sand hill to watch the beautiful sun set. Next go to the camp, which is the fusion of the nomadic people’s tents and the hotel services. Where you can listen to Berber drums night endurance dance around the fire, freely under the open sky with stars above you. Accommodation in place.

 

After the breakfast, the whole day in dedicated for sightseeing and discovering the area of Merzouga. It is almost impossible to describe the beauty of the area and what it has to offer, that includes sand dunes, wild lake, mines, fossil areas and fabulous oases. What are ideal places for so many out door activities. Our tour begins in Merzouga where we drive off-road to an ancient eyeliner mine. Then we go to visit Some of the nomads in their boilermaker camp and their handmade woven tent. And see how they live drinking their extraordinarily delicious Berber tea. Next on the route is the small village of Khamlia, in which tourists will be invited to plunge into the atmosphere of Gnaoua music and dancing. Its population is coming from sub-Saharan states for example Mali Sudan and Niger. Opportunity to have a lunch in a restaurant during the working day. After that we take a walk in the grove of palm trees. Then after driving for a few kilometres you will get to see the wild lake of Merzouga commonly referred to as the flamingo lake. Finally, return to Merzouga. They spend their sleeping time and eat a dinner in a hotel.

With regards to habits, one must wake up early in the morning to have a feeling of the beauty of the sun rising. Free time for breakfast. Next we abandon the desert and go to Rissani the former capital of Tafilalt. today can still be referred as one of the leading trading stations in the area. A large souk operational on weekdays with social activities on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays. After a walk in the Rissani souk, we leave for Erfoud where we visit one of the workshops of the marbles fossilized. We then continue with the desert drive passing through Touroug and Tinjdad palm trees to the Todra Gorges. Todra river has made its traditional pattern making a beautiful large channel through the mountains in the form of a grand canyon. Essentially, this high red cliff sided canyon is the best place for rock climbers. It is not forbidden to stay in the gorges and admire the views. Informal meals can be also taken during lunch time in a restaurant. They then proceed to the Dades valley passing through Boumalne Dades. Possible halts at the “monkey fingers” formation and at a viewpoint on a mountain to dominate the Dades valley. Dinner and accommodations in a hotel.

After having the breakfast, the travelers proceed to the Rose valley by traveling through the typed roads since they are in Tangier and the ending point of the Morocco Sahara tour is Kalaa Magouna, taking 7 days in total. There is a festival known as Rose festival in the entire month of May, the people bring their rose products compressed perfumes, water, oil, cosmetic products among others. We then proceed through the palm groves of Skoura and then make a stopover at the cultural Kasbah of Amredhyle. Then we reach Ouarzazate. Where we see the studios that some of the famous movies where shot at and also visit the Taourirt Kasbah. We then proceed for the famous kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou. A walled and roofed complex of buildings which has been receiving this status from UNESCO. Furthermore, the Kasbah has appeared in many movies including : The film can be compared with other historic action-packed films such as gladiator, Alexander, the Mummy and the list goes on. Of course TV shows such as ‘Game Of Thrones’. From there we proceed to the Telouet Kasbah. Then we go to Marrakesh passing through Tizi-N-Tichka pass & the great high Atlas Mountain range. Special attention will also be paid to stop for lunch and take photographs from different and attractive places. Lastly, we help you disembark at your hotel; a Riad in Marrakesh.
